We are excited and honoured to be bringing you some of the most wonderful Palestinian voices in food for an incredibly special panel discussion in a few weeks time.

In conversation will be chef & author Sami Tamimi (@sami_tamimi), artist, researcher, storyteller and founder of the Palestine Heirloom Seed Library, Vivien Sansour (@vivien.sansour), and director of purveyors of Palestinian produce Zaytoun (@zaytoun_cic), Manal Ramadan-White. The panel will be hosted by Safia Shakarchi (@dearsafia), photographer, writer & founder of Another Pantry at The Mosaic Rooms (@themosaicrooms) in London, a beautiful Palestinian-owned space that celebrates contemporary culture from the Arab world.

With a focus on the ongoing struggle in Palestine, this first event in a new panel discussion series entitled ‘Food & —‘ hosted by Another Pantry will explore the relationship between Palestinian identity, food and land, including farming and agricultural practices, issues relating to food sovereignty and security, cooking as cultural preservation and resistance, as well as the practical, cultural and symbolic significance of native plants and Palestinian produce including the olive tree, olive oil and dates and more.

We hope that this discussion will act as a window for those who are interested in food to begin to understand the situation in Palestine through this lens. We invite you to gather and to raise money but ultimately to be open, to engage and to join us in elevating the brilliant Palestinian voices in our food industry.

All proceeds from the talk will be donated between the Palestine Heirloom Seed Library in the hope of contributing to the longer term preservation of Palestinian culture, cuisine and identity, and immediate relief via Medical Aid for Palestinians.

We really look forward to it and hope to see as many of you there as possible. Any questions, please email us at hello@anotherpantry.co.uk.
